Sawkat Ali Zahid, Rezvi Zaman and Sirajul Alam in organizing cultural bodies, Baul Pagla Bablu, Md. Nizam, Debobroto Das Kanai and Govinda Bagchi in drama, Sheikh Mohammad Shadat Kabir and Md. Masud Reza in creative cultural researcher, Md. Karims father was Ibrahim Ali and mother was Naiorjan. The Ekushey Padak winning baul was born in a farmers household in Ujandhan village of Derai upazila, Sunamganj, on February 15, 1916. Today was the 104th birthday of the legendary baul singer Shah Abdul Karim. Sawkat Ali Zahid, Rezvi Zaman and Sirajul Alam in organizing cultural bodies, Baul Pagla Bablu, Md. Local singers performed baul songs in the evening. Masud Reza in creative cultural researcher, Md. Sree Korunamoy Adhikari, Shahanaz pervin, Md Hannarur Rahman Chand, Sajed Akbor, Shyamol Kumar Paul, Nepal Chandra Biwas have been awarded in the category of song. The awardees received TK 10,000, a medal, and an Uttoriyo (sash) each. The award was provided in different categories including song, dance, folk culture, drama, creative research work, artwork, recitation, instrumental music and photography.
